Configure Security

 

  • Set folder options
    • Go to Windows Explorer and select any folder
    • Go to View
      • Select Details
    • Go to Tools > Folder Options... > View tab
      • Click the Apply to all Folders button
      • Unclick the Use Simple File Sharing checkbox
  • Share all drives (share name should simply be the drive letter)
  • Enable the guest account
    • Go to Computer Management > Local Users and Groups > Users > Guest
    • Set Account Enabled = Yes
    • Right Click Guest and set password ( Bill's password)
  • Go to Computer Management > Local Security Settings > Local Policies > User Rights Assignment > Access this Computer From the Network
    • Make sure Guest is present
  • Go to Deny Access to this Computer from Network
    • Make sure Guest is not present
  • Set shares' permissions
    • Right click on each share > Sharing & Security > Sharing Tab
    • Add Guest
    • Repeat for Security Tab
