Installing Avant! / SpamBayes / Thunderbird
Avant! requires NO configuration. You get POP scanning "for free"
SpamBayes requires that you enter the server addresses. The following image shows the required values. This page is arrived at by right clicking the SpamBayes icon in the tray, then selecting "Configure..."
Now, Thunderbird needs to be configured to access SpamBayes rather than Roadrunner. You do this by going to "Tools > Account Settings..." and entering

Now you'll need to configure Thunderbird to filter based on headers added by SpamBayes. Go to Message Filters and add a new filter.
On the filter page, click the dropdown to select what to filter on. Choose Customize...
In the Customize Headers window, add: X-Spambayes-Classification. Now, use that header to filter on...
